In what might be the ultimate example of March Madness, one of the richest men in the world Warren Buffett is partnering with Quicken Loans to offer anyone who finishes with a perfect bracket for this year's NCAA men's basketball championship a one billion dollar prize.

Buffett says the winner can either take a lump sum of $500 million or spread $25 million payouts over 40 years.

Detroit-based mortgage lender Quicken Loans is actually putting up the money, but it's Buffett who is insuring the big payout if it happens.

Of course, he didn't mention the chances of a perfect bracket are a mere one in 9.2 quintillion. (Yes, it's a real number!) Quicken Loans will also award 20 consolation prizes of $100,000 each for the brackets that are closest to perfect.

Details on how to play the Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge and the website activates a minute after midnight on March 3.
