There are some movies that are timeless. And even though many people look at 80's movies as cheese fests, and many are, there are at least 10 that everybody needs to see at least once.

10. Caddyshack. One of the funniest movies of all time, even today. With one of the greatest casts of any movie, Caddyshack is a must see.

9. National Lampoon's Vacation. For those of you who don't know, the National Lampoon is a comedy magazine written by students at Harvard University. Yes one of the world's most revered schools also is responsible for some of the world's funniest movies, ever.

BONUS CLIP: Vacation's unforgettable theme song, "Holiday Road" by Lyndsay Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac.

8. Heathers. Probably most 80's kids foray into film noir, dark comedy. Christian Slater and Winona Ryder are fantastic in this comedy about murder and school bullying. Probably the first movie to turn a spotlight on bullying in school.

Bonus quote to know: "I love my dead gay son!"

7. Airplane. This is THE movie that everybody in the world quotes. If you want to know where some of the world's greatest movie quotes come from, watch "Airplane".

6. Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The ultimate senior skip day movie, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" showed a whole generation that school might not be as important in life as you're told.

5. Say Anything. this movie was the one that really launched big Hollywood movies having a soundtrack filled with amazing popular songs. The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Depeche Mode, Cheap Trick, Living Colour, Soundgarden and one of the greatest movie songs ever, Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes".

Bonus video: Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" music video.

4. The Lost Boys. One of the coolest vampire movies ever made! If your kids liked the "Twilight" series, make them watch this movie and show them what real modern vampires should be like. This movie features both Cory Haim and Corey Feldman in a long list of movies that helped them own the 1980's. Oh and Keifer Sutherland long before his days as Jack on "24".

3. The Princess Bride. Another movie that will be quoted forever. and one of the greatest romantic comedies ever. If you're looking for an original idea for a date night, watch this movie together. Or for the wrestling fan in your house watch Andre The Giant in one of his best acting performances.

Bonus quote: "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

Bonus quote #2: "Inconceivable!"

2. The Goonies. Another film with both Cory Haim and Corey Feldman, and the first pirate adventure movie I ever saw. I'm still infatuated with pirates to this day because of this theatrical masterpiece. Pirates, treasure, caves, booby traps, its all here.

Also starring Sean Astin as a little kid, and Josh Brolin in one of his first movies.

1. The Breakfast Club. Arguably, but not by many, the greatest movie of the 1980's. The Brat Pack ruled the earth when this movie came out. And it features the most memorable movie song ever, Simple Minds "Don't You Forget About Me"

Bonus clip: Simple Minds "Don't You Forget About Me" as seen in the ending of the movie. Powerful movie moment.

Argue this list all you want, but if you and your kids have seen them, then you are better people for it.
