The Texas Tech Red Raiders get their first CWS Series win ever with a 3-2 victory over 1 seed The University of Florida.

Davis Martin pitched an absolute gem going 7 innings with 3 strikeouts giving up only 3 hits. Florida countered with a great start of their own with Alex Faedo going 7.2 innings deep striking out 9 Red Raiders while allowing 7 hits.

Eric Gutierrez got the Red Raiders on the board with a 2-run blast that plated Cory Raley who was on 3rd base.

Nobody else would score until Eric Gutierrez came up in the top of the 9th with one out and Tyler Neslony on 1st. Gutierrez would hit a grounder to 3rd but thanks to 2 throwing errors Neslony would come home and Gutierrez would end up on 2nd base. We can call that an RBI double right?

Hayden Howard, who was working on a 6 out save, ran into trouble in the bottom of the 9th and every Red Raider fan let out a moan in unison of, "typical Tech" as they watched Peter Alonso rake a ball into the Bullpen for a 2 run homerun pulling the Gators within 1 run.

This team is not typical Tech.

With a new score of 3-2 and no outs in the bottom of the 9th Howard buckled down. Getting a strikeout and and a pop up bringing the tying run to the plate with no one on and 2 outs.

The Gator batter, Jonathan India, roped a ball into left field. India dug in and tried for 2nd but the cannon of Neslony wouldn't allow it. Hosed at the bag.

Texas Tech will play the Loser of tonight's game between TCU and Coastal Carolina on Friday June 27th.

That one will be win or go home as well. Water the tree.
