Dove hunting is an age old tradition to families all around Texas, and this year the population of doves is so high that the season has been extended to 90 days.

The first day of dove hunting season is Thursday, September 1 for North and Central zones, while the southern zone has to wait until the September 23. This year's daily bag limit is 15.

It's important to have all of your licences up to date since the deadline for expiration is one day before the season opens. Also, be sure to have your Migratory Game Bird endorsement and HIP certification if you plan to hunt dove.

If you're looking for a place to hunt, you can always check the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's official website. Happy hunting!
