According to the Texas Tribune, Texas Tech will allow students to carry firearms in their classrooms, and also in certain dorms. Is this OK with you, the Texas Tech student?

Guns will be banned at the Rec Center, the Chapel, (I didn't know Tech had a chapel), and some dorms. However students with a CHL can carry weapons in classrooms.

According to the Texas Tribune article: "The policy, which was finalized by Interim President John Opperman, will be reviewed by the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents in April. Under state law, the board doesn't have to approve the policy but can change it if it sees a need."

The apartment style dorms will allow weapons. Those dorms are the Carpenter Wells, Murray, Talkington and West Village residence halls. If a student is assigned a dorm room where a weapon is stored and they are not comfortable with that, they can request a transfer without issue.

So my question is, are you cool with this? I'm wanting to hear the opinion of current attending Tech students only, because its their school, their campus, and their safety at issue here. Let us know in the Facebook comments.
