The Texas Tech Cheer and Pom Squads competed this past weekend in Daytona Beach, Florida in the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) and National Dance Association (NDA) collegiate championships and took second and fourth places, respectively.

This is the ninth year in a row that Texas Tech has placed in the top five spots.

Stephanie Rhode, director of the Spirit Program at Texas Tech, said: "This year was by far the best year we have ever performed at nationals. I'm already looking forward to start planning next year."

Head cheer coach Bruce Bills also said that this year's performance was one of the best he has ever seen by Texas Tech.
