Get ready to party like it's 1989: Taylor Swift has got a big ol' announcement coming, and considering it's been three years since the release of her fifth and most recent album, a new LP might just be on the horizon.

A source told E! News there's a reason Swift has been almost completely absent from the public eye in recent months. The site says she's hard at work in Nashville putting together her next record, and that she's not resting until things are ready to go.

"Taylor has been writing and recording her new album in Nashville for the last several months," the source said. "She has been working on it around the clock and will be making an announcement soon. She is really excited about her new music and can't wait to share it with her fans."

"She has been entirely focused on that and not much else," the source added. "She has been 100 percent dedicated to making music the last few months and that's it."

In February, Swift performed what she said would be her only concert of the year at a pre-Super Bowl event in Houston. She delivered a set that included "Shake It Off" and premiered "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" live.

The singer's also been pretty inactive on social media lately, and has appeared only twice this year to hype the release of singles dropped by her friends Lorde and HAIM.
