Updated 6:06 p.m.: Lubbock Police have released new information regarding a shooting in northeast Lubbock.

Police received a description of the possible suspect vehicle, and pulled the vehicle over. Two passengers fled the scene. The driver was detained, and not arrested. Officers searched the area for the other two suspects, but could not find them.

During the shooting, a stray bullet struck a Rise Academy van, occupied by a driver and a child. Police say that another vehicle at the apartment complex was damaged by gunfire.

No injuries have been reported and the incident is still under investigation.

Lubbock Police responded to multiple shots fired in northeast Lubbock Wednesday afternoon.

At 3:30 p.m., Lubbock Police responded to shots fired near the Stone Hollow Apartments in the 1500 block of East Cornell. Initial reports say that a bullet struck a van in the 200 block of North MLK Boulevard.

No injuries have been reported.

One person was taken into custody, but police are still searching the area for other possible suspects.
