Last week we had this from Simon Cowell and the X-Factor crew:

Fox confirmed that British singer CHERYL COLE is joining SIMON COWELL and L.A. REID on the "X Factor" judges' panel. She's been rumored as a possible judge for weeks. The final spot is expected to go to PAULA ABDUL, but her deal isn't done yet. Simon recently confirmed that negotiations are underway to bring Paula into the fold. Cheryl is a member of the British pop group GIRLS ALOUD, but they've been on hiatus for the past two years. In the meantime, Cheryl has released two solo albums, and has judged the last three seasons of the British version of "X Factor".

And now we have confirmation that X-Factor is going to be Idol witha twist, but not much:

Paula Abdul

Paula Abdul has signed on as the fourth and final judge of 'The X Factor,' the Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Sources say that negotiations went down to the wire, due in part to her deal with CBS to appear on the dance-competition series 'Live to Dance.'

By joining 'The X Factor,' Abdul will be reunited with her 'American Idol' partner, Simon Cowell, along with judges Cheryl Cole and Antonio "L.A." Reid.

Meanwhile, PopCrush is reporting that Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger will co-host 'The X Factor' with British TV personality Steve Jones.

So really X-Factor is turning out to be more and more like Idol everyday. Is it going to be just a rehash or is it really going to be something new and special?
