Patrick Mahomes Notches 584 Yards, Five Touchdowns in Loss to Arizona State
Despite a tough loss to the Arizona State University Sun Devils, Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes still delivered an impressive performance.
Following the 68-55 loss, Texas Tech Athletics did a rundown of Mahomes' numbers. The junior quarterback helped put up 30 points with five touchdowns, going 38 of 53 for 540 yards with 11 rushes for 44 yards. Mahomes' 584-yard performance was the sixth most offensive yards in a single game.
According to the school, Mahomes' 500+ yard passing onslaught was only the second time he threw for that number -- the first being his 598-yard slaughter against Baylor in 2014.
Mahomes is now 46-for-63 overall for the 2016 season. His career passing yards total stands at 7,223.
Texas Tech's record moves to 1-1. Their next game is back home at Jones AT&T Stadium against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, Saturday, September 17. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. CST.
