It's no secret I love wine. I love the adventure of trying new varieties, new blends, and new wineries. Pairing wine with my favorite foods is a decadent treat I indulge in when I get the opportunity. Trust me, I've been celebrating Texas Wine Month by trying Texas wines listed by Texas Monthly, which includes two Lubbock picks.  I'll also be touring our local wineries. Here's some for you to hit up.

    Pheasant Ridge Winery

Bobby Cox is the proprietor of Pheasant Ridge Winery, a Texas Tech alum, horticulturist and apparently an all-around wine wizard. He worked his way through college as a sommelier, which is basically an extremely knowledgeable wine server. Cox frequently holds events out at the vineyard, just follow his Facebook for when they pop up.

Pheasant Ridge is dog-friendly. Hours are Friday 3-8pm, Saturday 12-7pm, or by appointment.

Apparently Google and Siri get the directions wrong, so here's how to get out there without taking a sketchy old road, as per their website:

    1. North on I-27
    2. Exit 14, right (East) at Alon gas station onto FM1729 for 2 miles
    3. Right (East) on CR2600 for 1 mile
    4. Left (East) on CR5700 for 0.3 mile
