The Red Raiders (14-5) open a two-game midweek series against Oral Roberts University (9-8) at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park Tuesday with a 6:30 p.m. first pitch. Game two is scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Oral Roberts went 3-1 last week winning at Oklahoma (5-1) in the midweek and taking two of three games from North Dakota State in Tulsa last weekend. ORU is batting .278 as a team with a 3.46 ERA and a .961 fielding percentage. Tech is 12-1 at home this season while the Golden Eagles are 2-2 on the road.

Tech has had a good deal of success against the Golden Eagles in recent times.Tech has won 10 of the last 11 meetings with ORU dating back to 1988.Texas Tech leads Oral Roberts 11-8 in the all-time series, including a 6-1 record in Lubbock.

The Red Raiders went 4-0 against. ORU in 2014 sweeping a 3-game series at home and winning a midweek game in Tulsa.

The Tech pitching staff its last 4 midweek games: 4-0, 2.54 ERA, 53 strikeouts, 11 walks. Head Coach Tim Tadlock will send sophomore left-hander Ty Damron (2-0, 2.66) to the mound Tuesday, and junior righty Johnathon Tripp (1-0, 2.70) is slated to start Wednesday.

ORU has not named  its starters for the midweek series.

The Red Raiders are back home for just a brief minute before returning to the road this weekend to open Big 12 play at Oklahoma.
