According to The Weather Channel, Friday night Lubbock could see its first freeze of the season.

The low for the day is 27 degrees, more than enough to freeze and hopefully kill off some mosquitoes. This would also be a 55 degree drop from Thursday afternoon's weather should we reach the predicted high of 82 degrees. Get ready for some serious sinus pressure.

According to the National Weather Service the earliest Fall freeze in Lubbock since records were kept was October 7th in 1952 and the latest was November 23rd in 2003.
