Due to the unusually warm weather I STILL somehow have tomatoes and hatch chilis in my garden but my tomatillos and cantaloupe bit the dust. Instead of leaving a bare, ugly bed I think this year I'll plant some nice fall plants.

Lots of places in town offer a nice selection, but the Lubbock Arboretum's plants are lovingly cared for by some of Lubbock's most experienced and talented gardeners. And your purchase will benefit a lovely place where many of you take family pictures, take walks and sometimes even get married!

This Saturday, November 5th from 9a-1p, is your opportunity to shop for plants hardy enough to withstand the autumn and sometimes winter here in West Texas. Selections with include violas, pansies, ornamental kale and cabbage.

The Lubbock Arboretum is located at 4111 University Ave on the northwest side of Clapp Park, next to the Lubbock Garden & Arts Center.
