I'm a foodie, so the notion that Lubbock has more restaurants per capita than any other U.S. metro was a big selling point in relocating to the Hub City.

Today, I scooted over to Sri Maharaja on 80th St. just off Quaker Ave. to have my first Indian food experience in Lubbock.

As with prior experiences at Indian establishments, they had a nice lunch buffet spread. The Chicken Tikka Masala and veggie samosas were the stand-outs, as diners quickly demolished each platter served. The curry-flavored dishes had plenty of picante kick as well.

They lose some points because of a lack of Garlic Naan and some key items that were frequently out at the buffet: Chicken Tandori, Samosas and Naan.

All in all, I gave Sri Maharaja's a slightly sub-par C rating, although I'm eager to try them during their traditional dinner service.

Which Lubbock restaurant should I try next? We've certainly got a lot to choose from, so let me know in the comment section.

BBQ and burgers are plentiful. Mexican food? Check. Sushi this far inland is try at your own risk. Italian? Got that, both local and chain. Shoot, we even have a great Brazilian Steakhouse in Churrasca!

However, as someone who has relocated from the West Coast my biggest disappointment is that I have yet to find any stellar Pho or authentic Asian food here in the South Plains.
