Another Lubbock man is suing after he felt excessive force was used in securing his arrest nearly two years ago.

Tanner Elliot Griggs filed a federal lawsuit yesterday against Lubbock Police officer Charley Daniel Brewer. Police dash-cam video from the traffic stop that lead to Griggs' arrest back in September of 2013 was used as evidence in the lawsuit.

Brewer conducted a standard field sobriety test on Griggs, but in the lawsuit Griggs claims Brewer also put him in a headlock, kicked his legs out from under him, causing him to fall on his face. Then, according to the suit, Griggs claims Brewer proceeded to punch the back of his head and neck area multiple times.

Brewer has not yet told his side of the story in court records.

KAMC News reports Griggs is suing for medical bills, legal expenses, and punitive damages. Lubbock Police indicated the city has not seen the lawsuit at this time and therefore declined to provide a statement.
