By now, you may have already heard the story about the mother who was kicked out of UMC for openly breastfeeding.

The dispute arose not because of the act, but more because the mother flat-out refused to cover up or move to an offered private room.

She was offered alternatives to avoid making other patrons feel uncomfortable, but choose to be uncooperative.

The question then becomes who was in the "right": the mother exercising her rights (Texas law states that a mother can breastfeed in any location that a mother is otherwise allowed), or a hospital acting to protect the awkward feelings of others in the room?

To me, this is less of a rights issue as it is a common courtesy issue when alternatives are available. Agree? Disagree? Agree to disagree?
