One of our regular listeners called in during my request show and told me he was having his worst week ever. Little did I know how bad it really had been.

Rick Lara said he and his fiancée Deanna were headed home this past Tuesday, April 14. When the couple arrived, they discovered that their home had been broken into. To make matters worse, the thieves made off with $6,000 he and Deanna had put aside for their wedding May 9.

They also stole the money they had put aside in an envelope to pay their bills this month.

He said the thieves left them a dollar in the desk drawer. In the pictures, you can see all of their wedding supplies and invitations on the desk.

Not only that, they took a rock collection that he and Deanna had given to his four-year-old daughter, plus some of her jewelry and a necklace he had purchased for Deanna.

I was appalled and saddened at this situation. Rick did say that his coworkers were pooling together funds to help them, but I also encouraged he and Deanna to start a Go Funde Me page. It is warranted, I believe.

We West Texans are always ready to help, especially when some of our fellow hard-working West Texans are faced with a situation as bad as this one is.

If you would like to help Rick and Deanna, here is their GoFundMe page.
