Lubbock ISD voters on Tuesday ratified a district proposal which will shift two cents of property tax revenue from debt service to maintenance and operations.

Earlier this month, Lubbock ISD Supt. Dr. Berhl Robertson told KFYO News the money would be used to fund technology projects for the district. He also stated that increased tax revenues in the district will help keep the debt service funding at needed levels.

According to Lubbock ISD official, right now each cent of property tax revenue raises: $961,830 Local Revenue Per Penny & $1,802,944 State Revenue Per Penny. With the approved shift in property tax revenues the district will gain: $5,529,548 Total Revenue with Proposed Two Penny Tax Shift.
