Six Lubbock Independent School District students have been selected to perform in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City.

We had the chance to hang out and talk to all six of the students, who were beyond excited for the opportunity to travel to the Big Apple to be in the annual parade.

Two members of the Monterey High School Color Guard, 12th graders Tiffani Finkbone and Shelby Elkins, were selected for the 40-member Macy's Parade team after submitting an audition video last spring.

Lubbock High cheerleader Kami Hogan was selected for the National Cheerleader Association team that will perform in the parade.

Finally, Kelsey Clark, Sarah Khan and Rachel Giovannetti from the Lubbock High Pom Squad will also be among the students performing in the Macy's Parade.

I asked the girl two questions: what they were most excited about doing in New York, and what they were most nervous about. Unsurprisingly, they mostly agreed on the latter question. You can see their responses in the video above.

We are so proud of the girls and wish them the best. We'll be watching!
