Chocolate Fantasia sounds completly magical, and I'm quite sure the 20th Annual event will live up to that expectation.

Acccording to Llano Estacado's Facebook Event Page:

Chocolate and Wine – need we say more? Llano Estacado Winery is excited to host their 20th Annual Chocolate Fantasia event on February 11th from 6:30-8:30PM here at the winery!

Chocolate Fantasia will feature over two dozen competitors that spend weeks designing a chocolate sculpture of their own creativity along with samples of chocolate delights for guests to enjoy. Over 5,000 samples were served at the 19th annual event, including a new savory category in which guests enjoyed shrimp drizzled with a white chocolate sauce and brisket bites smothered in a creamy mole sauce.

Local celebrity judges as well as experts from across the country will be awarding prizes in four categories including; Best of Show, and Judges’ Artistic Merit Award. Guest votes are included in the People’s choice and Champion of Savory Chocolate awards.

This annual event is put on in coordination with Llano Estacado Winery, The ACF Texas Panhandle Chefs de Cuisine and the Southwest Parkinson’s Society. Tickets are available for purchase in person or over the phone at Llano Estacado Winery and are $75 a person with partial proceeds benefiting the Southwest Parkinson’s Society. Tickets include complimentary wine, chocolate samples, light hors d’oeuvres and a commemorative glass.

The savory catagory sounds particularly exciting to me. And wine and chocolate are always a fabulous pairing.

Personally, I'm grateful for this fundraising event. I spent most of 2016 scheduling and attending a battery of tests to see if I had early on-set Parkinsons. I have a unilateral tremor in my left arm which makes it difficult to hold a phone, impossible to thread a needle and I've dropped and broken things. Luckily for me I discovered that I have a less serious and slow progressing neuro-degenerative disorder. But in the process I read up on Parkinons maniacally and it is truly a terrifying, cruel disease.

Be sure to buy your tickets in advance, this fabulous event is always well attended.
