Star Comics (3504 34th) is hosting 'Ladies Night', Saturday, April 21st from 6:30 p.m. to 9. Kids are welcome and the event is free to attend- but you'll likely want to bring some cash to buy art and comics.

The event is intended to be an inclusive event that allows women to meet with like-minded ladies, shop, meet local female authors and artists and to make new friends with similar interests.

I've attended these events before with my daughter and they were incredible- goodies, snacks, mementos and a great vibe. Many ladies came in their favorite cosplay (without fear of being ogled or criticized). I'm excited to attend this event in their new larger location.

Here's the details from their Facebook Event Page:

Star Comics is proud to present the return of our always popular LADIES NIGHT event! However, two things mark this one as special. First, this will be the first Ladies Night in our brand new location at 3504 34th (formerly Hesters Books). Second, this is the 10th Ladies Night event (Four years of Ladies Night events!) we've held and our former host, Sam Gaitan (aka Raicodolll) has stepped down from her host duties and passed the torch to Julie Raven Art. Please help us welcome Julie, and our thanks to Sam for everything she has done for us, and for you all. Ladies Night would never have happened if it weren't for her!

Now on to the Ladies Night details...

As always - Female fans of all ages are welcome to attend. All local female identified, transgendered, and non-binary comic book fans are welcome to get together and talk about the books they love, what they're reading, new events, and things that can be improved in comics without judgement!

Men, and people who identify as men, are welcome to enter at 8:30pm, but from 6:30-8:30 it is women (and people who identify as women [trans or otherwise] and nonbinary) only. Sorry, fellas!

Come mingle with your own nerd crew, meet some new friends, read, share, discuss comics with other female fans. It's the perfect place to discover a new addiction, and celebrate your nerdiness!
