Seaside Heights, New Jersey and surrounding townships better batten down the hatches — it looks like Jersey Shore reunion filming might be underway, which means no boardwalk is safe.

According to Buzzfeedmultiple local New Jersey outlets are reporting that the eight cast members from MTV's massively popular reality TV franchise — which originally ran from 2009 to 2012 — have been filming at some old favorite bars and beach sides. Point Pleasant Beach and Asbury Park are just two recent shoot spots, the site says, and Langosta Lounge was reportedly contacted for a filming session but turned the opportunity down.

“Oh well, they’ve been reading the paper and they know Asbury Park is the place to be,” Asbury Park mayor John Moor joked to the Asbury Park Press. “No, we did not know they were coming as they applied under ‘Roadtrip Reunion.’...They paid their fees and everything worked out fine.”

Cast members Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino have also recently posted Instagram photos that have given Shore fans hope a new series or special might be just around the corner.

Still, MTV has denied it has any involvement in the project,
