The Zika virus has been one of this year's biggest scares, even impacting the upcoming Olympics in South America.

Carried by mosquitoes and bodily fluids, the virus has received national attention. Now, with the virus confirmed in Texas, Doctor John Hellerstedt gives some tips on protecting yourself.

The virus has been confirmed in nine counties, all from traveling persons. There is no evidence that Texas mosquitoes carry the Zika virus. Dr. Hellerstedt gives tips on how to avoid infection and possible effects from the disease. You can hear those tips in the video above.
