Today is the first day of Summer, also known as the "Summer Solstice". Many cultures throughout human history have celebrated this day, and twenty first century Lubbock is no exception. I didn't make it out to any solstice parties this summer, too much going on, but the ones I've attended in the past have been pretty grand. The biggest Summer Solstice party of them all goes down at Stonehenge every summer, with thousands of people gathering to celebrate the longest day of the year. Regardless of if you threw a pagan party, got out and did summer activities like swimming(not much chance in this dust) or just quietly enjoyed the Google doodle for the day, I hope you all have a great first day of summer.
