If you're scrambling to get your packages shipped in time for Christmas without it costing a fortune for express service, your recommended date according to the local FedEx is Friday, December 16th. The U.S. Post Office is recommending December 20th. It's the deadline for first-class mailing in time for Christmas.

There is an option you may not think of which may really come in handy. The Post Office (USPS), FedEx and UPS all offer to pick up your packages at your home so you don't need to make the trip to them.

According to a Yelp survey, the number one shipping spot in Lubbock is the UPS on 82nd and Slide. In second place is the AIM Mail Center at 82nd and Quaker. The FedEx Office on University just south of Marsha Sharp Freeway comes in 3rd.

When I spoke with AIM Mail Center, who works with, UPS, FedEx and USPS, they said they are open Monday the 26th even though all of the shipping services are observing that day as the Christmas holiday and nothing is able to ship on Monday December 26th.
