It's true that crime doesn't pay and it's better just to come clean. But an escaped Texas inmate took that to a whole new level.

The Yakima Herald reports that a Texas inmate was being treated in a hospital in Jasper, Texas, 125 northeast of Houston, when he decided to make a run for it.

Twenty-year-old Wesley Evans of Silsbee, Texas, also close to Houston, was arrested March 8 for aggravated robbery, auto theft and arson, according to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

He suffered a hand injury while incarcerated and fled from the hospital where he was being treated Tuesday.

Evans was found Wednesday, according to investigators for the the case, hiding inside a dishwasher in an apartment in a complex where his girlfriend lives.

Here's hoping this will cause Wesley to amend his ways and live a squeaky clean life from here on out.
