Red Raider basketball has stayed in the headlines over the summer with the addition of the new recruits joining the roster, to some good heartwarming stories involving a member of the team.

However, all the way across the world, Davide Moretti is playing out of his mind as he leads his home country of Italy in the FIBA U20 European Championship. This past week, Italy was continuing their group play, looking to advance to the round of 16, and Moretti played one of the best games of his young career against Serbia where he totaled 29 points.

Even though it was a loss to Serbia, there is no denying how great Moretti has been for his home country. In group play, Moretti averaged 15.0 PPG, 2.3 RPG, 2.0 APG and 1.7 SPG.

Moretti and his home nation of Italy have advanced past the group stage of the FIBA U20 European Championship and will be taking on Greece in the round of 16 on Wednesday.
