Covenant Hospitals want to increase awareness of child abuse on the South Plains with a Blue Ribbon tying event this Monday, April 9th.

From Covenant Health System:

Join Covenant Children's in tying 1,031 blue ribbons for those abuse and one white ribbon for a child who died from abuse on the fence in front of the hospital to help increase awareness and prevention of child abuse and neglect.

The incidents of child abuse and neglect on the South Plains is staggering. It is estimated that Lubbock has the 3rd highest rate of abuse in the state. This is a statistic that needs to change.

The event will take place Monday, April 9th at 1 pm, at the main entrance of Covenant Children's main entrance at 4000 24th Street.
