Three college students in New Paltz, NY were in desperate need of furniture, so they did what any group of struggling college students would do: they bought a couch from the Salvation Army for $20.

Little did they know their small investment was about to pay back BIG TIME. The group of guys noticed the cheap couch was really uncomfortable and decided to investigate. After unzipping a cushion, they found an envelope with $4,000 inside! The threesome kept digging, and in a matter of minutes they had discovered a total of $40,000. JACKPOT!!! They kept digging and found a deposit slip with the couch’s owner’s name on it.  What would you do?

See ya sucker!!! These guysw...not so much. They decided they had to find the owner and return the $40,000. The owner was a 91 year old woman who was hospitalized when her family donated the couch.  The students returned all the money to the family and what did they get for their honesty?  A crappy $20 couch.
