Thursday, February 15th, Club Pink is hosting "Drag for DACA" brought by Mi Casa Es Su Casa Network. Door is a $5 donation for adults and $10 for minors. The show will feature several of Lubbock's extremely talented and gorgeous queens, "dragging for coins hennny" as our Emologie Raven would say.

Proceeds for the event will help with local DACA recipient application fees. One of Club Pink's resident dancers happens to be a DACA recipient- but mostly she's just an incredibly beautiful and talented individual.

In case you haven't followed the news, folks here under the DACA program have a one month window before March 5th to apply for a 2 year extension, otherwise they could be deported to countries they may not remember at all or have any connections with. The application is quite expensive- $495. Besides the hefty fee, the requirements are quite strict- meaning anyone with deferral under DACA has no felonies or 'significant' misdemeanors, must either be in school or achieved a high school diploma or GED or must have been honorably discharged from the military. All DACA recipients were under the age of 16 when they came to the states and all are under 40 years old.

Tips given to the queens will also be donated, so be sure to bring singles (or fives and up if you're really bad and boujie). There is arguably nothing more entertaining than a good drag show, and these ladies werk for it.
