With Christmas on Sunday this year, many Lubbock businesses and organizations are closing December 26th and some on December 23rd.

According to my research, most banks will be closed December 26th.

The USPS Post Office as well as FedEx and UPS are closed on December 26th. (Breathing a collective sigh of relief, no doubt!)

City of Lubbock Waste Management has posted Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as holidays. A phone call follow-up found that they are observing Christmas on Friday, December 23rd and Monday, December 26th. They'll be closed with no trash collection both days. They said that if you're concerned, you can call to request a pick up before the holiday.

SPEC South Plains Electric Coop will be closed December 26th.

Lubbock Power & Light (LP&L) will be closed December 23rd and 26th. You can pay your bill through their automated system and also at United Supermarkets.

United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos will be closing early on Christmas Eve, December 24th and will be closed December 25th, Christmas Day.

You're able to pay some of your bills at the United Customer Service office during the store's open hours. Bills you can pay at United stores include LP&L, Atmos, Xcel, AT&T, Windstream, and MCI. Good to know this option is available.

Walmart will be open Christmas Day until 6 p.m. You can pay most utility bills at Walmart as well.
