When I think "Harvest Festival' I normally picture a watered-down kids Halloween party, the kind where kids get toothbrushes instead of candy. I think Buffalo Springs Lake has taken it upon themselves to kill that stereotype with fire. And by fire I mean literally 12 hours of events which range from home-y and sweet like a crafts fair, to proper Halloween fun like the Zombie Run and scary movies.

Activities begin at 11am with the craft fair, food vendors and live music. According to BSL's website the day's activities include:

* Food and Retail Vendors with unique shopping opportunities. Including crafts, clothing, home products, pumpkins, and much more. 11:00am-4:00pm.

* A Bounce House, Spider Climber, and Rock Climbing Wall at no cost 11:00am-4:00pm.

* Games and Activities including Face Painting and Hay Rides for a small fee 11:00am-4:00pm.

* Zombie Run – Benefitting Women’s Protective Services of Lubbock, $20 to register at the Harvest Festival 5:00pm-6:00pm.

* Haunted Hayride – Zombie chasing hayride at 6:00pm

* Scary Movie: Shown on a large inflatable screen at 10:30pm.

The cost to attend the festival is $5 for adults and free for children 11 and under. If you have questions about becoming a vendor at the fair you can email the super nice and super sweet Penny at pennyjonesbsl@yahoo.com.
