[UPDATE: CANCELLED] Beto O’Rourke To Host Lubbock Meet & Greet This Tuesday

Senatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke will host a meet and greet at Lubbock restaurant The Gastropub (3131 34th), from 4:30pm to 6:00pm this Tuesday (August 29, 2017). He is looking to unseat incumbent Ted Cruz.  Beto is currently a member of the U.S. House, representing the Texas' 16th District.

Beto is a Democrat and is known for his stance on marijuana reform- he believes in drug liberalization (basically that weed should be decriminalized). Beto has been described by his peers as "Kennedy-esque".

Beto fun fact: he was the singer and guitar player in a band called Foss, whose member Cedric Bixler-Zavala went on to found At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta.
