Many same sex couples are euphoric over the Supreme Court ruling legalizing same sex marriage nationwide today.

Lines snaked around the courthouse in Austin, and one couple in particular were all set to get married by an Austin retiree with a pastoral degree from the International School of Divinity.

He performed the ceremony under a tree outside the courthouse. The couple exchanged vows and rings, photos were taken and voila! But not quite.

A constable told the couple that they could not be legally married unless they obtained a waiver by the judge of the state's 72-hour waiting period. Then, they could come back and finish their ceremony.

So, something to keep in mind: in the midst of celebrations and excitement, legal steps still have to be observed in the process of marriage.
